As a Senior Fiber Network Designer at Ledcor Construction, Inc., you will be responsible for designing and developing telecommunications networks that span North America and beyond. With 7+ years of experience in OSP fiber design, copper design, or RF plant design, you will lead the engineering team in creating detailed designs of OSP elements (aerial and/or underground) and fiber designs of telecommunication networks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create expert-level detailed layout and design of PON (GPON / FTTH) networks and HFC broadband plant extensions using various programs while ensuring safety is incorporated into all aspects of design
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, ensuring quality work meets company standards
  • Support projects such as FTTH deployments, road moves, relocations, hardened structure build, wireless deployments, fiber-to-the-suite, greenfield residential and commercial developments
  • Perform quality control and field checks of construction and inspections to ensure compliance with updated Safety Codes, electric Codes, customer practices, and procedures
  • Collaborate with team members from other divisions to overcome project challenges and issues
Requirements:
  • Graduate from a technical college program in civil, electrical/telecommunications, GIS, or equivalent experience
  • Expert knowledge of outside plant design practices and municipal permitting requirements
  • Organized and self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Strong MS Office skills, experience with AutoCAD, ESRI/ArcGIS an asset
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders and interpret their needs
  • Working knowledge of construction or telecom documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices and methodology

Estimated salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
