Human Resources Recruiter

We are seeking a skilled Human Resources Advisor to join our team at the Kwanlin Dün First Nation. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting recruitment and HR activities that promote community growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead recruitment processes, including job description development, advertisement preparation, and effective advertising strategy identification.
- Collaborate with departmental representatives to create tailored interview questions and assessments.
- Chair selection committees to ensure fair and consensus-based hiring decisions.
- Conduct comprehensive reference checks and extend employment offers.
- Maintain accurate employee records and assist in database management.
- Support onboarding and orientation activities for new employees.
- Track performance evaluation deadlines and ensure timely completion.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resource or related field, combined with knowledge and experience in recruitment and HR processes, preferably in a federally regulated workplace.
- Experience coordinating and leading recruitment processes and activities, such as posting job ads, preparing assessment material, conducting references, and booking interviews.
- Drafting and modifying job advertisements and job descriptions is an asset.
- Providing excellent client service is essential.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, active listening).
- Excellent interpersonal skills (building trust and positive relationships).
- Problem-solving skills (crafting solutions/strategies for HR challenges).
- Organization skills (managing multiple tasks and priorities, documentation and record keeping).
- Time management skills (meeting deadlines, coordinating meetings, and managing competing priorities).
This role requires an acceptable Criminal Records Check and a valid Yukon class 5 driver's license. The Kwanlin Dün First Nation offers a generous employer-paid benefits package, including matching pension contributions, after three months of continuous employment. The position is Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day, with paid leave accruals.
