At Health Careers in Sask, we are seeking an exceptional HIV Nurse Specialist to join our team at West Side Community Clinic in Saskatoon. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive care and support to patients living with HIV and Hepatitis C.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate nurse with 5 years of direct nursing experience in HIV care. The successful candidate will possess excellent assessment, triage, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

About the Role:

This is a full-time temporary position offering a competitive salary range of $42.040 to $52.440 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. You will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and assessing patients through chart review, history, physical assessments, and lab data
  • Triaging needs and care, identifying and ordering diagnostic tests in consultation with physicians and other team members
  • Providing crisis intervention, follow-up, and referral services through telephone and one-on-one contact
  • Liaising with team members in hospital departments and community agencies to ensure continuity and coordination of care
  • Developing and delivering formal education programs on HIV and Hepatitis prevention, testing, care, and treatment

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5 years of direct nursing experience in HIV care
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) and registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Excellent decision-making, communication, organizational, and time management skills
