Job Summary

Powell Canada Inc. is seeking a skilled Second Year Apprentice Welder to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our Fabrication department, you will be responsible for producing precision parts and constructing Powell Canada products using a variety of welding processes and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and assemble structural steel and sheet metal products to meet dimensional specifications.
  • Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, and shape sheet metal.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure products meet cosmetic and appearance specifications.
  • Conduct light maintenance on welding and cutting equipment, as well as small power tools and fume extractors.
  • Participate in Powell's ongoing Safety Training and promote a safety culture within the team.
Requirements
  • Minimum education level of a High School diploma required.
  • Completion of 2nd year in a Welding program.
  • Registered Apprentice with AIT (or other provincial programs).
  • CWB Certification is considered an asset.
Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. You will be required to wear personal protective equipment at all times and work from various types of ladders.

Physical Requirements
  • Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling.
  • Continuous standing, walking, and lifting up to 20lbs.
