At Stantec Consulting International Ltd., we are seeking a highly skilled Ecologist Quantification Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have expertise in quantitative ecology and data analysis.
Job Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and analyzing large datasets from various environmental monitoring tools and techniques, including remote cameras, autonomous recording units, GPS collars, and vegetation surveys. They will also work with the geospatial team to perform spatial data analysis and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement ecological studies and monitoring programs.
About the Role
- Process and analyze data from diverse environmental monitoring programs.
- Work closely with the geospatial team to integrate spatial data analysis.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to design and implement ecological studies.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications to communicate findings.
- Mentor junior staff and interns.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a Master's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field, along with 6-8 years of experience in quantitative ecology. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in programming languages such as R, Java, and Python, and experience with data processing and analysis from various environmental monitoring tools and techniques are essential. Familiarity with GIS software and spatial data analysis techniques is an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience, plus additional benefits, including opportunities for professional growth and development, a comprehensive health and wellness program, and a supportive work environment. The successful candidate will be employed on a full-time basis, working primarily in an office setting, with occasional fieldwork required.
