About the Role

Questrade Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled Governance Specialist to join our team. As a Governance Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the General Counsel/Corporate Secretary in managing the company's governance framework and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and updating of corporate records, including minutes of meetings, meeting materials, and resolutions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date corporate calendar, including board and committee meetings, shareholder meetings, and regulatory filing deadlines.
  • Ensure all corporate filings are completed accurately and submitted on time to regulatory authorities.
  • Track and maintain all records in compliance with records management policies and procedures and for audit purposes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field; a paralegal certification or similar qualification is a plus.
  • Governance designation or knowledge about corporate governance considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a corporate governance or administrative role, preferably within a corporate or legal environment.
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance principles, compliance requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with board members, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Google applications and familiarity with governance management software.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain professional integrity.
