About the Role

The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for ensuring the quality of all OSI Maritime Systems products, including incoming materials, manufacturing test inspections, and final product assemblies. This role requires a high level of autonomy and accountability, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

Main Responsibilities

  • Inspecting incoming materials, in-process, and final product assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Validating documented records, supplier quality management, and recording all findings within quality control records
  • Conducting functional product validations, analyzing production, verifying bill of materials, quality records, certificates from suppliers, and test records for completeness and accuracy
  • Observing and validating complex factory acceptance test events on behalf of the customer
  • Performing final QC inspections on all outgoing systems and hardware, including detailed objective evidence reports
  • Creating accurate inspection records and documenting evidence of all inspections performed within QC databases
  • Managing supplier defects in collaboration with the Purchasing department and creating Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs)
  • Identifying, developing, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve OSI and supplier quality
  • Leading MRB process, running cross-departmental MRB meetings, and reporting to senior management on MRB status

Requirements

  • Recognized university degree, technical diploma, or technologist with preference given to direct experience in Quality Assurance, QC Inspections, Methods or Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Manufacturing, Aeronautics, Automotive, or related industry
  • Direct experience in Marine, Shipbuilding, or Military industries is highly beneficial
  • 10+ years' experience in a Quality Engineering role, QC inspection, or equivalent
  • QMS auditor's certification to ISO 9001:2015 or similar ISO series is required, with a high level of understanding of quality management systems auditing and quality assurance fundamentals knowledge
  • Key skills: vision, attention to detail, self-motivation, judgment, inspection, proofreading, logic & reasoning, analytical skills, communication skills, interpersonal aptitude, process analysis, objectivity, and ability to read and interpret complex hardware design drawings
