Job Overview

The Automation and Controls Director plays a pivotal role in managing Rexel Atlantic's sales of automation and related products. This position involves working closely with senior management, sales representatives, suppliers, and customers to achieve budgetary goals.

This leadership role entails direct contact with key stakeholders, influencing the success of Industrial Sales Representatives in selling automation products.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and developing the Rexel Atlantic Automation team to ensure optimal talent growth and deployment.
  • Collaborating with the Nedco Quebec automation team to drive mutual success.
  • Working closely with our in-house industrial Panel Shop - Litetec.
  • Developing and executing an annual Automation commercial plan for all technical segments, with a focus on delivering sales and growth targets for the assigned region.
  • Fostering strong supplier partnerships (mainly Schneider) through relationship-building, open communication, feedback, and addressing potential risks and challenges together.
  • Engaging key customers and suppliers to discuss market trends, future business opportunities, and resolve concerns to increase customer awareness.
  • Identifying and promoting business development opportunities by offering automation solutions.
  • Collaborating with regional automation managers, sales teams, and account managers to secure strategic business, drive continuous growth, and share best practices.
  • Analyzing areas for improvement and implementing action plans accordingly.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry developments to identify key competitors, customer contacts, and target accounts.
  • Providing training and facilitating knowledge sharing within the Division.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree (Sales or Marketing major) or equivalent; CET designation is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of solid sales management experience within an Automation environment and a thorough understanding of how to promote and sell automation solutions.
  • Ability to build strategic partnerships, identify potential sales opportunities, and develop those accounts.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in Industrial Automation products and solutions, VFDs, PLCs, MCCs, Industrial Controls, Safety, and/or Software would be an asset.
  • Position based out of the Atlantic region, with occasional travel required.

Estimated salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
