BDO is a leading professional services firm that values its people and clients. We are seeking an Articling Student to join our Office of the General Counsel in Toronto.

Your Opportunity

As an Articling Student, you will be part of a dynamic in-house team and undertake a broad range of duties, including:

  • Working in various practice areas, such as corporate & commercial, litigation & regulatory, employment, and privacy.
  • Conducting research on diverse legal matters that impact the firm.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, such as memoranda, contracts, and policies.
  • Staying up-to-date with developments in the law, regulations, and case law.
  • Conducting fact-gathering and exposure analysis for pre-litigation matters.
  • Responding to inquiries and collaborating with legal counsel on a wide range of legal files and issues.

  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Sharp legal analytical skills, including the ability to analyze information, identify key issues, and manage processes from inception to completion.
  • Persuasive communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels, both in the legal and business community.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present legal opinions, arguments, and information in a clear manner.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills to effectively manage a high volume of files and projects with competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative nature, and the ability to work in a cross-team environment.
  • High values in teamwork, client/customer service, and professionalism.
  • The ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
