Job Summary

Are you a compassionate and dedicated nurse looking for a challenging role in emergency medicine? We have an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC).

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced LPN to provide high-quality patient care in our Emergency Department. As a Medical Care Coordinator, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions for patients across the lifespan. You will be responsible for coordinating health services, participating in discharge planning, and teaching patients and their families about illness management and overall health promotion.

The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also have a solid understanding of pathophysiology related to common diagnoses, as well as the ability to perform nursing assessments and interventions.

Requirements

• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one year of recent experience working in a related area of care
• Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
