Emergency Veterinary Technologist Role

At VCA Canada, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our Emergency Service team. Our Emergency Service is a cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary facility located in the heart of metro Vancouver, providing a diverse and dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use technical skills to the fullest and work with the necessary tools and resources to be successful in pursuing one or multiple passions within our hospital.
  • Expand your learning through extensive exposure and involvement in various cases.
  • Perform a variety of clinical procedures, including venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, in-house lab work, anesthesia/sedation monitoring, patient assessment, and emergency triage.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and pet parents to provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming environment.
  • Develop strong organizational skills and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Adapt to changing situations and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Registered Veterinary Technologist, RVT or eligible to register.
  • Confident team player who can also work independently when required.
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills in working with colleagues and pet parents.

Shifts and Schedule:

This position will include shifts in the daytime, evenings, overnights, weekend, and holiday shifts. Shifts are typically 12 hours in length, 3 shifts/week.
