About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Steward to join our team at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. As a Steward, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our dishroom and kitchen areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently provide professional, engaging, and friendly service to our guests and colleagues.
  • Exude a positive personality, smile, and promote constructive work environments.
  • Provide clean dishes, cutlery, baking, and buffet equipment.
  • Operate industrial-grade cleaning machinery and tools.
  • Exposure to food service-grade chemical cleaning supplies.
  • Upkeep clean and sanitary conditions of dishwashing areas and relative kitchen spaces.
  • Assist with culinary prep duties and adhere to requests by culinary CDP, Sous, and Executive Chefs.
  • Work in humid and hot environments.
  • Team-based environment working in two to three staffing areas for short to long periods of time.
  • General cleaning - mopping, sweeping, scrubbing, cleansing, polishing.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives.
  • Adhere to all hotel environmental policies and initiatives.
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Warm and caring personality.
  • Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs, being professional and welcoming.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management.
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision.
  • No formal education/experience required.
  • Prior cleaning experience an asset.
  • Physically fit as you will be standing and walking throughout shift.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Able to bend and kneel with comfort.
  • Housekeeping is a very physically demanding position. Duties include repetitive bending, pulling, carrying, high lifting, and heavy pushing (up to 50lbs).
