Job Summary

Fork & Knife Inc. is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in menu planning, preparation, and kitchen management.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and organized individual to oversee all culinary aspects of our restaurant. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating menus, managing inventory, supervising staff, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine food portion sizes and costs to optimize profitability
  • Plan and execute menus, considering nutritional value, flavor profiles, and presentation
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes, ensuring high-quality standards
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain sanitation and safety standards
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooking techniques, food handling, and safety protocols
  • Order supplies and equipment, managing inventory and controlling costs
  • Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment, using data to inform decision-making
  • Clean and organize kitchen and work areas, promoting a safe and efficient work environment
  • Manage kitchen operations, prioritizing tasks, and delegating responsibilities as needed
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality
  • Ability to work well under pressure, remaining calm and composed in a fast-paced kitchen setting
