About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Healthcare Partner to join our team at SearchLabs. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in healthcare facility design and mechanical engineering.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing mechanical systems for healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and research institutions. They will be responsible for leading projects from start to finish, collaborating with healthcare providers, architects, and construction teams to ensure that mechanical solutions meet the stringent requirements of healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and specification of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and medical gas systems for healthcare facilities.
  • Ensure mechanical systems meet the healthcare facility's requirements, including patient comfort, infection control, energy efficiency, and operational reliability.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure mechanical designs integrate seamlessly into overall building plans.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance by ensuring adherence to relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and building codes, including ASHRAE, NFPA, and other healthcare-specific guidelines.
  • Coordinate with local and national authorities to ensure all mechanical designs meet required healthcare certifications and safety protocols.
  • Manage and oversee mechanical aspects of healthcare facility projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and provide recommendations to clients regarding mechanical system improvements, replacements, or new installations.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems to ensure they function as designed.
  • Incorporate sustainable and energy-efficient solutions in mechanical designs to reduce the environmental impact of healthcare facilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer license or equivalent is preferred.
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a significant portion in healthcare facility design.
  • Experience working on large-scale healthcare projects, such as hospitals, clinics, or research institutions.
  • Technical expertise in mechanical engineering principles and healthcare-specific mechanical system requirements.
  • Project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects, delivering on time, and within budget.
  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
