Supply Chain Optimization Specialist

Job Summary
This role coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to acquire inventory. It involves acquiring and maintaining technical understanding of products purchased, monitoring the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure high-quality at best value. Responsibilities include performing cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities, recommending cost-saving proposals, and obtaining materials, components, equipment, and services while ensuring security and accountability of inventory.
You will work on-site in our Cambridge, ON facility and report to the Production and Inventory Control Manager.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support product supply and inventory plans consistent with business objectives.
- Analyze and resolve expectations and error reports from mainframe planning and buying modules.
- Facilitate the resolution of supplier inbound Quality Issues.
- Maintain Accounts Payable PO price exception report and resolve invoicing discrepancies in accordance with company policy and system requirements.
- Manage supplier businesses in quality, on-time delivery, and inventory, developing and implementing cost avoidance savings.
- Monitor and process cancellations and holds to manufacturing orders/purchase orders.
- Preserve validity in dispatch lists and control product lead-times.
- Create a production plan for assigned modules and final production areas, considering customer order status, forecast, material availability, production equipment issues, ECN activity, and other related production issues.
- Maintain accurate Bills of Materials for existing products and support implementation of Bill of Material changes from Engineering Change Notices.
- Develop an understanding of product life cycle planning, including master scheduling, new product introduction, product phase-in/out, and inventory planning.
- Adopt new technologies to enhance performance and leverage knowledge and information for driving competitive advantage.
- Apply policies and procedures in compliance with government laws and Rockwell Automation's standards.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
- Licence to work in Canada is required.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- APICS Certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge in production control, materials planning, MRP, and procurement.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficient in Excel.
