Caregiver Role at Island View Place Care

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Care Assistant to join our team at Island View Place Care. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, to ensure our residents maintain their independence and dignity.
  • Support residents with their mobility needs, including transferring, lifting, and positioning, to prevent falls and injuries.
  • Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by our medical team, ensuring our residents receive the best possible care.
  • Engage with residents in activities that promote their physical and emotional well-being, such as exercise routines, games, and social events.
  • maintain accurate records of resident care, including medication administration, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication among residents, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date on best practices in resident care.
Requirements
  • Completion of a college diploma or certificate program in a related field, such as health care or social services.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a care setting, preferably in a nursing home or long-term care environment.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing resident needs and providing exceptional care and support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
