Hutch Transportation is seeking a skilled Truck Driver - Route Optimization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials. Your expertise in route optimization will enable us to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, contributing to a more sustainable future.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation logistics and be able to plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions. You will also be responsible for loading and unloading goods, operating and driving straight or articulated trucks, and overseeing the condition of the vehicle. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Load and unload goods
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections

Requirements:

  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
