Plant Controller

The Plant Controller will be responsible for all aspects of finance for the Hamilton plant, including managing 3 direct reports, month-end close, journal entries, costing, inventory management, billing and A/R, purchasing and A/P. The successful candidate will also lead the implementation of the new ERP system at site and prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all financial operations for the plant, including costing, billing, accounts receivable, purchasing, inventory management, accounts payable, and maintaining the general ledger
- Lead the ongoing implementation of the ERP system, along with associated processes and internal controls
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for external stakeholders and management, and assist with the month-end closing and year-end audit processes
- Set up a capital expenditure process to evaluate and track capital spending
- Identify risk areas, evaluate best practices, and implement process improvements
Requirements
- Strong accounting background with 5+ years of cost and financial accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills, specifically relating to Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
- Well-organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual able to self-manage and work as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- CPA designation
- Familiarity with steel fabrication and construction an asset
