We are seeking a skilled Second Cook to join our kitchen team at Nita Lake Lodge - Hotel. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that they are clean and well-maintained, and take steps to address any issues or concerns.
- Staff Training: Train kitchen staff and helpers in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
- Inventory Management: Order supplies and equipment, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure that we have everything we need to operate efficiently.
- Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to help them perform their roles effectively.
- Cleaning and Organization: Clean kitchen and work areas, and organize buffets and banquets to ensure that they are presented to the highest standards.
- Operational Management: Manage kitchen operations, ensuring that we are running efficiently and effectively, and that all tasks are completed on time.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Work Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
- Language: English.
- Work Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week.
