Senior Bank Regulatory Attorney

Scotiabank is seeking a seasoned Senior Bank Regulatory Attorney to join our team in New York City. As a key member of our Global Banking and Markets division, you will play a critical role in shaping our U.S. banking laws compliance strategy.
Responsibilities- Serve as a legal stakeholder on working groups, managing projects and engaging with the firm's advocacy efforts relating to regulatory issues and change.
- Prepare and manage bank regulatory applications, filings, and submissions, including licensing filings, supervisory responses, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Review and update firm policies relating to bank regulatory laws, including the Bank Holding Company Act and confidential supervisory information.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments, evaluate their impact on Scotiabank's businesses, and coordinate discussions with internal stakeholders as needed.
- Advise internal stakeholders across the front office and other corporate functions on developing and implementing key strategic projects and new initiatives.
- Analyze complex legal and regulatory issues and provide timely and well-researched work product to clients.
- Contribute to efficient and effective relationships with outside counsel and manage legal costs and invoices.
We are looking for an experienced attorney with a strong understanding of U.S. bank regulatory laws and regulations. You should have excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure.
What We OfferAs a Senior Bank Regulatory Attorney at Scotiabank, you can expect a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on your level of experience. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
