Job Opportunity: Risk Policy Manager

This role is responsible for supporting the Risk Governance and Reporting team with governance protocols for risk policies at RBC Capital Markets, LLC. The position will cover both change and run the bank activities related to policy governance, adoption, and effectiveness.

  1. Support the design and implementation of policy governance initiatives: Maintaining GRM's Policy Management Authorities, reviewing and challenging risk policy documents, providing feedback to ensure adherence to RBC's Enterprise Policy Management Requirements, and promoting best practices across the organization.
  2. Promote awareness of RBC's Policy Management Requirements: Supporting the implementation of a monitoring program to ensure compliance with GRM-RP5.
  3. Regularly monitor announcements and publications: From RBC's primary regulators/supervisors for potential impacts on risk policies.
  4. Provide support to initiatives: Related to risk policy, including regulatory remediation and process improvement projects.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships: With key contacts in GRM to share best practices on policy governance.
  6. Champion effective stakeholder engagement: Communicating with policy teams, managers, and authors to ensure best practices for stakeholder engagement are followed.
  7. Assist with communication and governance strategies: Ensuring buy-in from all stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of RBC experience with expertise in governance.
  • Strong problem-solving, written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and draw out diverse views to achieve greater results.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and in an organized manner.
  • Intellectual curiosity, global and strategic mindset with ability to think conceptually.
