Description

Propak Systems Ltd. is a leading engineering, fabrication, and construction company specializing in gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking a Journeyman Structural Welder to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB. The successful candidate will work on various projects, including fabrication of skids, supports, platforms, ladders, stairs, and handrails.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements.
  • Read all types of welding symbols.
  • Welding of all types of structural materials using FCAW and SMAW processes.
  • Have valid CWB certification in FCAW to at least G3 Vertical position prior to start date.
  • Fabricating skids, supports, platforms, ladders, stairs, and handrails.
  • Cutting, gouging, and grinding of all types of structural materials.
  • Setup, operate, and cleanup of equipment, including saws, ironworkers, welding machines, and FCAW feeders.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate, or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
  • Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of directly related work experience.
  • As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement, and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
  • This position may be required to direct, coach, and mentor apprentices.
