About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Dr. M. Khojasteh Dentistry Professional Corporation. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dental laboratory and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for dental examinations and procedures
  • Prepare plaster models and moulds for dental restorations
  • Train other dental laboratory assistants on new procedures and techniques
  • Order dental and office supplies to maintain a well-stocked laboratory
  • Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and recording dental procedures
  • Prepare dental instruments and filling materials for use in procedures
  • Maintain and order supplies to ensure a clean and organized laboratory
  • Perform reception and clerical duties, including answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment to prevent infection and ensure patient safety
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide guidance on maintaining good oral health
  • Polish teeth and clinical crowns, and apply fluoride and sealant as needed
  • Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays for dental restorations
  • Schedule and confirm appointments with patients
  • Perform intra-oral duties, including taking and developing X-rays
  • Record dental procedures performed on patients and maintain accurate records
  • Invoice patients for dental services and maintain accurate financial records
  • Polish and buff dentures to ensure a comfortable and natural fit
  • Fabricate and place temporary crowns and restorations as needed

Requirements:

  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a dental laboratory or related field
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment
