Job Description

We are seeking a reliable Housekeeping Aide to join our team at Spring Living Retirement Communities. As a Housekeeping Aide, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our residents' suites and common areas.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting resident suites, common areas, and other designated spaces. Additionally, you will need to perform laundry duties, restock supplies, and maintain utility and store rooms in a tidy and sanitary condition.

The ideal candidate will have previous housekeeping experience and completion of secondary school education or equivalent. First Aid & CPR Certificate is preferred but not mandatory. You must be able to meet the physical demands of the job and possess good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect resident suites, including telephone, furniture, kitchen and washroom fixtures, walls, ceilings, lights, vents, mirrors, and windows.
  • Clean and disinfect common areas, including dining room, bathrooms, lounges, activity areas, offices, hallways, stairways, and other areas as directed.
  • Dust furniture and equipment.
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machine.
  • Vacuum and clean/shampoo carpeted areas.
  • Perform cleaning duties according to established procedures.
  • Empty and clean all waste containers and transport garbage to designated area.
  • Makes up beds and changes linen as required.
  • Straighten and rearrange furnishings as directed.
  • Maintain utility and store rooms in a tidy and sanitary condition. May restock supplies.
  • Reports any damaged or unusable furniture and fixtures.
  • Performs laundry duties as required (sorting, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and delivering clean linen and clothing).
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous housekeeping experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Completion of secondary school education or equivalent.
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good listening skills and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
  • Must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the job including
  • Work is performed indoors in well-lighted, well-ventilated areas. Exposed to heat, humidity, and noise.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations (as per Spring Level policies and procedures).
  • Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Persons Check required.
Estimated Salary Range:

$35,000 - $45,000 per year
