About the Role

Aecon is seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation of structural steel components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to lay out work
  • Unload and stack steel units for hoisting
  • Erect and install scaffolding, cranes, and other hoisting equipment
  • Assemble rigging and move heavy equipment and materials
  • Position steel units, align holes, and insert temporary bolts
  • Check alignments and join steel parts by bolting or tack welding
  • Assemble and erect prefabricated metal structures
  • Select, cut, bend, position, and secure steel bars or wire mesh in concrete forms
  • Install ornamental and structural metalwork
Requirements
  • 2-3 years' experience in interpretation of structural, architectural, engineering, and erection drawings
  • 2-3 years' experience in rigging, hoisting, lifting, and working with cranes
  • 2-3 years' experience using pneumatic, electric, and hydraulic tools
  • 2-3 years' experience in industrial construction
  • Physical strength and stamina
  • Manual dexterity
  • A safety-conscious attitude
  • Ability to work with others in a team
What We Offer
  • $50.00 hourly rate
  • Shift rotation to change per project requirements
  • 10 hours per day - hours flexible to change
  • Overtime paid at 1.5 times the employee straight time hourly rate after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week
  • 6% vacation and 4% statutory holiday pay
