Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 per year
Job Description:
The Executive Chef will be responsible for leading our kitchen team and overseeing the preparation and presentation of our menu items. This includes planning menus, estimating food requirements, requisitioning supplies, and supervising kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate special events such as banquets and buffets
- Determine the size of food portions and costs
- Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies
- Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas
- Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
- Order supplies and equipment
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- Clean kitchen and work areas
- Recruit and hire staff
- Organize buffets and banquets
- Manage kitchen operations
Requirements:
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Possess excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with kitchen operations and safety protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent required
