We are seeking a skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our team at Dairy Queen Saanich Centre. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness are consistently met.

Job Description
  • About the Role:

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing kitchen staff, maintaining accurate inventory control, and adhering to health and safety regulations. They must also possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train their team members to achieve exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish efficient methods to meet work schedules and deadlines;
  • Coordinate the preparation and portioning of food, ensuring quality and presentation standards are consistently met;
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff in job duties, sanitation procedures, and food handling practices;
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels, sales data, and wastage;
  • Prepare and submit reports on kitchen performance and operational efficiency;
  • Manage inventory control and ordering systems to ensure timely delivery of supplies and ingredients;
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty;
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related field (an asset);
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Kitchen Manager or equivalent role in a fast-paced restaurant environment;
  • Proven track record of success in managing kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory control, and cost control;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances;
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and health codes;
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move quickly in a busy kitchen environment.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience;
