Job Summary

The Early Childhood Development Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs of children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that fosters growth and development.
  • Leadership: Lead activities and provide guidance to children, promoting their participation and engagement in educational and recreational pursuits.
  • Guidance: Assist children in developing essential life skills, such as eating, dressing, and toilet habits, while promoting independence and self-confidence.
  • Observation: Monitor children's behavior and development, identifying areas of concern and reporting them to parents or guardians, as necessary.
  • Collaboration: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers, working together to provide comprehensive care and support to children.
  • Environment: Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children, adhering to relevant regulations and guidelines.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1) qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

This role involves a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with occasional lifting and bending. You will need to be able to work in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment, prioritizing the needs of children and their families.
