We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op Process Engineer to join our team at MEG Energy in Calgary, Alberta. As a member of our Optimization Team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions that drive business growth and environmental sustainability.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen interest in learning and contributing to the oil sands industry. You will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to troubleshoot and resolve plant operational issues, develop process calculations, and prepare technical feasibility studies.
In this 12-16 month internship role, you will gain valuable experience in process engineering, including project management, data analysis, and communication. You will also have the opportunity to travel occasionally to our site in Christina Lake, Alberta, to interface with plant process engineering and operations staff.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, or Environmental Engineering (or related field).
- Third-year standing or higher in an accredited engineering program.
- Experience in the Alberta oil and gas industry is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of SAGD operations and system analysis skills.
- Ability to manage complex workloads, work collaboratively, and meet critical deadlines.
