About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Manual Shop Machinist to contribute to our team at WORKFORCE - Staffing Solutions in York, Ontario.

This position involves working in a fast-paced environment alongside other machinists to complete customer orders, repairs, and part replacements.

As a successful candidate, you will be proficient in operating various equipment, tools, and machines, including manual mills/lathes, drill presses, sanders, and grinders.

You will also be responsible for interpreting blueprints and shop drawings, calculating dimensions and tolerances, and ensuring parts are manufactured to specifications.

The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and safety, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or within a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual mill/lathes, drill press, sander, grinder, and other machinery to manufacture parts according to specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to ensure accurate manufacturing
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances to meet quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals and deadlines
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a manual machinist
  • Familiarity with Milltronics machines is an asset
  • Some CNC experience is an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and focus on accuracy and safety
  • Licensed to work in Canada
Compensation and Benefits

Up to $45 per hour based on experience and credentials
