Director of Operations and Business Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations and Business Development to join our team at People First Solutions. This is a senior leadership role that will play a key part in driving the growth and success of our business.

The RoleThe Director of Operations and Business Development will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company, including sales, finance, production, merchandising, and purchasing. This individual will have a keen eye for fashion, understand global trends, and be client-centric, collaborative, and accountable.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and implementation of digital distribution strategies to grow the e-commerce side of the business
- Attending trade shows, meeting with suppliers and clients, and identifying growth opportunities in the global market
- Building strong relationships with suppliers, growing existing supplier relationships, and building new ones
- Overseeing the production and operations of the company, empowering the leadership team to take ownership of their areas of responsibility
- Understanding margins and inventory management, forecasting changes in client demand, and ensuring supply chain processes are effective and on-time delivery is maintained
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A minimum of 12 years' track record of success, with 7+ years of leadership experience within the textile or fashion industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of operations, including finance, sales, production, inventory management, and human resources
- Proven track record growing sales through a network of sales agents and sales representatives in Canada and the United States
- Experience overseeing a warehouse, understanding inventory management, tariffs, procurement, logistics, and on-time delivery
- Experience working in product distribution globally and selling to multiple end-users such as designers and wholesalers
- Strong negotiation and follow-up skills, with the ability to attend to the needs of the client and build strong relationships
- Superior Excel skills, comfortable with pivot tables, and able to analyze, interpret, and act on data gathered from an ERP system
In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
