High-Level Automation Engineer for Water Treatment Facilities

At Stantec Consulting International Ltd., we are seeking a seasoned Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team of experts in water treatment facilities.

This exciting opportunity allows you to contribute to multidisciplinary projects involving water and wastewater treatment plants, working closely with engineers and designers to provide technical services to public and private-sector clients.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design activities, such as developing preliminary scope definitions, budgets, and staffing plans, field review and evaluation of existing equipment, control systems, and control panels, preparing studies, conceptual reports, and technical memorandums.
  • Conducting I&C engineering and analyses related to various water, wastewater, and industrial waste treatment facilities, supporting multi-disciplinary teams with engineering design projects and studies, and developing construction documents (drawings, specifications, and schedules).

In addition to your technical skills, you should possess solid interpersonal skills for working in a team environment, strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to mentor junior staff.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be proficient in designing and implementing automation systems, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA system planning, design, programming, and upgrades.

With over 15 years of experience in instrumentation and controls and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering, you will be well-equipped to excel in this position.

The salary for this position is approximately $123,800 per year, based on location in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Canada.
