Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and resident plans of care.
  • Utilize sound nursing practice principles to ensure excellent nursing and personal care in assigned home areas.
  • Ensure timely and accessible admissions, comprehensive orientations, and safe resident transfers and discharges.
  • Manage medications, narcotics, and protocols on assigned shifts.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet residents' physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Effective, compassionate, and supportive interaction with others.
  • Respect for residents' individuality, self-respect, and privacy.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, and the College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice.
  • Medical Clearance, Vulnerable Sector Police Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check.
  • Clear Criminal Record check.
