About the Role

The Residential Support Associate is a key member of the Residence Facilities team, responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and service in a student residential environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.

Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in assigned areas, including performing routine cleaning tasks and addressing any reported facilities issues.
  • Conduct inventory control and manage supplies to ensure efficient operations.
  • Participate in activities that support the Residence Facilities organizational goals and objectives.
Customer Service
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting a positive living experience.
  • Engage students in educational programming and events, promoting community engagement and a memorable experience.
  • Refer students to appropriate resources to help solve facilities issues.
Safety
  • Promote and maintain a healthy work environment, adhering to University of Waterloo health and safety practices.
  • Assist with safety and security procedures, including end of term lockdown and minor facility-related emergencies.
  • Identify and assist with safety efforts, including inspections and JHSC visits.
Requirements
  • High school education; post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in computing skills, smartphone apps, and web-related communication tools.
