About Vancity and the Lease Administration Role

Vancity is a leading organization in real estate and property management, seeking an experienced Lease Administration Professional to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for lease administration, a strong analytical mindset, and excellent communication skills.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing rent rolls, tracking lease payments, and coordinating with tenants and landlords to resolve any discrepancies. Additionally, they will conduct detailed reviews of lease agreements, analyze lease terms and conditions, and provide expert advice on lease provisions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update rent rolls to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Track lease payments and manage billing and collection processes.
  • Coordinate with tenants and landlords to resolve any discrepancies in rent payments.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of lease agreements and analyze lease terms and conditions to ensure compliance and identify potential issues.
  • Prepare lease abstracts and summaries for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in lease negotiations and renewals, providing expert advice on lease provisions.
  • Maintain accurate and organized lease files and records.
  • Track critical lease dates, including expirations, renewals, and rent escalations.
  • Evaluate variance analysis and provide insights on lease-related budgets and expenses.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to lease expenses.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS lease reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS 16 lease accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review financial statements related to lease obligations.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Urban Land, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in lease administration or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS 16 and lease accounting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in lease management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Salary Information:

The salary range for this role is $64,500 - $96,500, with a likely midpoint offer of $80,500. We reserve the upper half of the salary range for individuals who demonstrate consistent strong performance and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.
