Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Event Management Specialist to join our team at Calgary Exhibition and Stampede Limited. As an Event Management Specialist, you will be responsible for planning and executing trade shows and exhibitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop risk management plans to ensure a safe and successful event.
  • Prepare, present, and manage budgets to meet financial objectives.
  • Review bids and negotiate costs with vendors and suppliers.
  • Assist in budget preparation and provide financial analysis.
  • Plan and arrange for trade shows and exhibits, including logistics and coordination.
  • Plan schedules, goals, and objectives to achieve event success.
  • Research and design special events programs to enhance the attendee experience.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure efficient event execution.
  • Manage Event Logistics, including venue selection and catering arrangements.
  • Supervise office and volunteer staff to ensure effective team management.
  • Perform financial calculations, such as costing and budgeting.
  • Coordinate competitive programs to attract attendees and sponsors.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business or hospitality.
  • Experience in event management is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license for travel and transportation purposes.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Tight deadlines and fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership skills and ability to supervise staff.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
