Winter Maintenance Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Winter Supervisor of Maintenance to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our Highway Operations Division, you will be responsible for supervising snow and ice control activities, ensuring safe road network conditions throughout your assigned area.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direction, technical support, and daily supervision to snow and ice control teams
- Monitor and maintain department levels of service, ensuring effective use of equipment and resources
- Assist in the planning and coordination of routes, staffing, equipment assignments, and repair
- Oversee work on job sites, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations
- Conduct preliminary site investigations, prepare cost estimates, and inspect maintenance contracts
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- High School and 4 years of related experience (2 of the 4 years must be in snow and ice control services)
- A Civil Engineering Technology Diploma plus 2 years of experience in snow and ice control services
- An acceptable equivalent of education, training, and experience
You will also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
