Job Details
  • Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada
  • Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires full-time work (37.5 hours a week) in a hybrid or onsite structure throughout the co-op/intern term.
  • Duration: 16 months
What You Will Be Doing
  • You will work closely with our software engineers to develop and maintain software applications.
  • You will receive training on the full software creation process, from design and build to testing and deployment.
  • You will have the opportunity to build scripts that automate software development processes.
  • You will learn debugging methodologies to investigate software issues.
  • You may be involved in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Canada-based University in a Bachelor program majoring in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge/experience with software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming and scripting languages like Python, Windows PowerShell, Linux shell script, Perl, Java, JavaScript, UML.
  • Experience with operating systems UNIX/Linux OS.
  • Knowledge of databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, Azure.
  • Knowledge of web development frameworks, Django, Rails, Spring Boot.
  • Knowledge of markup languages like HTML, XML, XSL.
  • Experience with defect tracking, testing, debugging.
  • Knowledge of Git, GitHub, Perforce.
  • Knowledge of security technologies, OAuth, SSL, or TLS.
  • Knowledge of PC/CPU architecture, Embedded systems, microcontrollers.
