Indigenous Community Care Coordinator

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to fill the position of Supervisor, Mdewgaan Healing Lodge. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in overseeing culturally based programming at the Mdewgaan Healing Lodge, an urban residential healing lodge for mothers with their children who have experienced trauma and may be dealing with addictions and/or mental health concerns.
About the PositionThe Supervisor, Mdewgaan Healing Lodge is responsible for ensuring the residential treatment program is implemented and delivered in a manner aligned with NCFST's cultural grounding and accountability structures. This includes providing culturally safe, trauma-informed support related to addictions, mental health, parenting, healthy attachment, and post-partum issues.

- Culturally Safe Support: Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed support related to addictions, mental health, parenting, healthy attachment, and post-partum issues.
- Supervision: Supervise a team comprising residential counsellors, case managers, and support workers to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery.
- Physical Safety: Ensure the physical safety of staff, residents, and physical buildings.
- Crisis Response: Provide crisis and de-escalation guidance and support as needed.
You will work closely with the Manager of Housing to ensure a cohesive residential experience for participants and comprehensive direction for staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Indigenous approaches to wellbeing, including land-based practices and cultural knowledge.
Qualifications- A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field, such as addictions or mental health.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
- Experience in trauma-informed clinical practice is an asset.
- Strong leadership, conflict management, and mediation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management, and organizational skills.
