Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled General Duty X-Ray Technologist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing and assisting radiologists, other physicians, and senior technologists in the performance of routine and non-routine radiological procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and assist in radiological procedures such as General Duty, Mobile, Fluoroscopy, OR, Central Line Placements, and Pacemaker Insertions.
  • Assist and relieve senior X-Ray Technologists and Charge Technologists in areas such as on-call and CT.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized school of Medical Imaging Technology.
  • Previous related pediatric experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with PACS and RIS is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) and registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) within three months of hire.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
Work Environment

The incumbent will be exposed to radiation (within acceptable limits) and to disagreeable elements such as contagious disease, anaesthetic gases, etc. The incumbent will also be exposed to extreme patient injuries.

This is a term position and may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
