About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Capital Facilities Director to lead our Major Hospital Development and Redevelopment Expansion Projects. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strategic leadership, project management expertise, and a strong understanding of facilities development processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct project planning, design, construction, and implementation of capital facility development projects;
  • Develop and implement capital and operating budgets, including authorization, control, and reporting of expenditures;
  • Ensure appropriate time, quality, and cost monitoring systems are implemented, with regular reporting on schedule, budget, quality, and safety against contract requirements;
  • Collaborate with department leaders to provide advice and problem resolution on design and construction issues, human resource requirements, and other areas related to departmental direction and development;
  • Oversee strategic and conceptual planning, design, and implementation of major hospital redevelopment and expansion projects, working with internal and external stakeholders, consultants, and leaders;
  • Review and approve capital and operating budgets, ensuring efficient utilization of financial resources.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master's degree and professional designation in a relevant discipline, supplemented by ten years' recent related experience in progressively more complex and senior management leadership roles in a large multi-site organization;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of facilities project delivery processes, including planning, design, construction, and procurement within current standards, codes, bylaws, and regulations;
  • Ability to effectively manage major facilities projects from concept to completion, with initiative, judgment, and decision-making capabilities;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, with ability to coach team members on these skills;
  • Broad knowledge of patient care delivery systems in primary, acute, and community settings, with ability to work under pressure with deadlines and changing priorities.

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
