Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Wheelchair Dispatcher to join our team at PrimeFlight Aviation Services. As a Wheelchair Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the efficient deployment of wheelchair services throughout the airport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the dispatch of wheelchair services to ensure timely and effective service to passengers with mobility challenges.
  • Monitor flight schedules, passenger needs, and attendant availability to optimize resource distribution and response times.
  • Maintain clear communication with airport staff, attendants, and passengers to facilitate a smooth and supportive experience.
  • Manage the scheduling and routing of wheelchair attendants to maximize efficiency.
  • Track the availability and location of wheelchairs and mobility equipment.
  • Provide training and guidance to wheelchair attendants on proper handling and safety protocols.
  • Handle passenger inquiries and concerns related to wheelchair services.
  • Maintain records and logs of wheelchair dispatches and assistance provided.
  • Collaborate with airport security and medical teams in case of emergencies.
  • Oversee the maintenance and readiness of wheelchair equipment.
  • Liaise with airline and airport personnel to streamline wheelchair service operations.
  • Prepare reports on service metrics, challenges, and improvements for management review.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to use electronic devices, including iPads, tablets, computers, and mobile devices.
  • Effective communication skills, both in-person and through electronic means.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
  • Ability to work any day/shift, including holidays, within a 24/7 operation.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Position is generally sedentary, sitting for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to push, pull, crawl, bend, stretch, and squat.
  • Must be able to work at elevated heights and be exposed to moderate and high noise levels.
  • Must be able to speak frequently on the telephone and be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and audible alarms.
