About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse to provide specialized foot care services to residents in Long Term Care facilities.

Job Description
  • Maintain a consistent and predictable treatment schedule for patients.
  • Provide detailed documentation of treated residents for billing purposes.
  • Perform comprehensive foot assessments for clients with various health conditions and foot-related concerns.
  • Offer medical foot care services such as general foot care, nail trimming and filing, diabetic foot care, non-surgical ingrown toenail removal, thick nail reduction, corn removal, and callus reduction.
  • Educate patients and their families on proper foot hygiene and best routine care practices.
  • Develop personalized patient care plans in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitor and document changes in clients' foot health by electronic charting on Point Click Care (PCC).
  • Build strong rapport with patients and ensure positive patient experiences.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Conduct treatments in residents' rooms to ensure privacy.
  • Work effectively with residents who may have cognitive decline or challenges in understanding.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Hold Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care Certification.
  • Prior experience in foot care is an asset.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hold a valid G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Be able to effectively manage time and priorities.
  • Be able to work independently and within a team.
  • Have computer knowledge and the ability to learn proprietary software. Proficiency in Microsoft Word preferred.
