NURSE NEXT DOOR: Home Care Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Home Care Assistant to join our team at NURSE NEXT DOOR. As a key member of our home care services, you will provide essential support and care to patients in their homes, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supply and empty bed pans for patients
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Serve meal trays and assist with feeding patients
  • Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely
  • Maintain patient rooms, making beds, and ensuring cleanliness
  • Supervise exercise routines for patients and encourage physical activity
  • Administer suppositories, enemas, and colonic irrigations as prescribed by medical professionals
  • Bathe, dress, and groom patients with dignity and respect
  • Transport patients between care facilities using wheelchairs or stretchers when necessary
  • Collect and process patient specimens according to established protocols
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing the operative area
  • Provide first aid in emergency situations, prioritizing patient safety
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field, such as healthcare or personal support work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic home care environment
  • Initiative and dependability, with a strong work ethic
