Job Title: Full-time Board Member

The Ontario Association of Interval & Transition Houses is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Full-time Board Member. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital part in shaping the future of our organization and ensuring the continued delivery of essential services to women, children, and youth who have experienced the impact of violence against women.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in social work, healthcare administration, or a related field. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding our organization through periods of growth, transition, and evolution. Your passion for serving survivors of domestic violence and creating a culture of self-sufficiency and growth will be a driving force in your work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to the organization
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality services
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and community partners
  • Oversee the management of change associated with organizational growth and transitions
  • Ensure the organization's commitment to safety, integrity, equity, and inclusion is upheld
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university-level degree in social work, healthcare administration, or a related field
  • A combination of education and experience in non-profit management, social service work, or public administration
  • A strong understanding of intimate partner violence, gender-based violence, and systemic factors that undermine women's safety and human rights
  • A proven track record of working with government agencies and community partners
  • A passion for serving survivors of domestic violence and creating a culture of self-sufficiency and growth
