Job Summary

This position is part of the support team for children and families in need, providing a safe and nurturing environment for growth and development. As a Support Worker in Child Welfare, you will be working closely with case managers to deliver exceptional care and services to those who require it most.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate visits between children and their parents or other family members to maintain healthy relationships and bonds.
  • Provide respite to caregivers by supervising children and youth in their homes or out in the community, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • In exceptional circumstances, support workers may be authorized to work with a child and/or family to provide additional assistance and strengthen the family system.
Requirements
  • A strong sense of professional judgment, ethics, sensitivity, integrity, and confidentiality to maintain trust and respect among clients and colleagues.
  • The ability to work cooperatively and productively as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve common goals.
  • Effective conflict resolution and interpersonal skills to manage difficult situations and foster positive relationships.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of clients and respond to new challenges.
