Early Childhood Education Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Early Childhood Education Specialist to join our team at Inuksuk Infant Development Centre. This role is perfect for someone with experience in child-care and a passion for early childhood education.
Job OverviewThis permanent position involves developing and implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. As an Early Childhood Education Specialist, you will be responsible for supervising staff, training new employees, and leading activities that foster creativity and learning.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
- Supervise staff, trainees or volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care and education.
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, encouraging creativity and exploration.
- Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, including progress reports and incident reports.
- Encourage children to express themselves through various forms of media, such as art, music, and dramatic play.
- Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, promoting independence and self-care skills.
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, preparing reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
- Maintain knowledge of licensing regulations and ensure compliance in all aspects of child care and education.
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, collaborating with colleagues to provide a supportive and inclusive environment.
- Familiarity with first aid techniques and protocols.
- Ability to obtain a criminal record check.
- Dependable and efficient in managing multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Judgement and reliability in making decisions that impact the well-being of children.
- A team player with a strong commitment to collaboration and mutual respect.
The estimated salary for this position is between $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
