About the Role

Island Health is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Health, Wellness, Safety and Ability Management team. As Executive Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote a healthy and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement injury prevention and occupational health programs
  • Lead the development of policies and procedures related to health and safety
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and wellness
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the health and safety team
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in health and safety and apply them to our organization
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in occupational health or a related field, along with extensive leadership experience in health and safety. You should have a track record of developing and implementing successful health and safety programs and a passion for promoting a culture of safety and wellness.

You should be a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders and motivate teams to achieve results. You should also be able to think critically and strategically, able to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
