About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Wood Frame Carpenter to join our team at BIG BEN CONSTRUCTION INC. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and Cut Materials: Accurately measure and cut materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to ensure precise fitments.
  • Assemble and Join Materials: Assemble and join materials to construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Install Finishing Touches: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the construction project.
  • Train and Mentor: Instruct apprentices and provide guidance to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Estimate and Plan: Estimate costs and materials required for the project, and plan the construction process to ensure timely completion.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced construction environment, with a focus on quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in wood frame construction
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor
