The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 per year, based on the job requirements and location in Halifax, Nova Scotia.



Job Description


We are looking for an experienced Reporter/Editor to join our team in Halifax. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and pitching stories, writing, producing, and presenting interesting and informative content for audiences. They will have experience with compelling video storytelling and be able to generate material for radio, online, and TV.



Required Skills and Qualifications



  • A strong journalistic track record and ability to research and pitch stories
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of digital storytelling
  • An inclusive thinker, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Interviewing skills that demonstrate a curious mind and ability to listen
  • Demonstrated technical ability
  • Ability to travel within Nova Scotia on assignment
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, including very early mornings and regular weekends
  • Strong presentation skills for broadcast
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or demonstrated lived experience
  • A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets the minimum requirements of CBC/Radio-Canada's insurance company
